Chargers CB Verrett to miss rest of season

Chargers cornerback Jason Verrett’s year is over barely after it got started.
Saturday Verrett will proceed on injured reserve, a team resource not authorized to speak said. He’ll undergo knee operation.

After recovering from season-ending knee surgery a year 27, Verrett, Pro Bowl corner and a pick, played in only one match this year.
The Chargers shut down him after Week 1. Trevor Williams took over reverse Casey Hayward to your team.

Verrett’s played in just 25 games in four seasons since he 25th was drafted by the Chargers in the 2014 NFL Draft. The team picked up the fifth-year option on his contract of Verrett .
After undergoing surgery last year Verrett progressed to the point at which he was able to play at the group’s third exhibition match. Verrett then emerged before Anthony Lynn in the group’s loss in Denver and the Chargers saw something was wrong.
“He did not look right,” Lynn stated.
