Cox Digital Academy, designed with the entire family in mind

Cox Communications has established the Cox Digital Academy, a website which provides families access to free online resources such as computer basics , sociable websites safety science projects, and games.

When it’s homework help and a “making it rain in a jar” activity for students, or computer and internet basics to financial literacy for parents, families are able to benefit from a host of resources to boost their digital literacy skills.

The Cox Digital Academy includes tools and resources along with the Public Library Association, which have partnered via its program with Cox Communications.

The Academy is a growth of the program, which provides internet for families which receive government assistance and have a K-12 student in the home.

The Cox Digital Academy provides:

• Computer and internet basics, instructing users how to run web searches, create and manage email accounts, and also the best way to navigate internet search engines.

Tools and • Educational games for students and teachers, providing teaching strategies, homework help, and more.

• Job skills fill out applications that are online and create resumes.

• Social media and safety, providing children and parents the resources to help learn about media basics prevent cyberbullying, and protect media privacy.

• Online literacy, such as setting up or managing a checking account on the internet and handling an online budget.

Cox supports technologies adoption and communities throughout Connect2Compete and the Cox Digital Academy. In San Diego County, Cox provides internet access to the community at more than 40 Cox Technology Centers in Boys and Girls Clubs and neighborhood, youth and senior centers across the county. Each of us and Girls Club Technology Center includes notebooks, monitors, computers, printers, and internet assistance, enabling students find out and to complete their college assignments.
